The people around your estate
Add beneficiaries, executors and asset managers, keep their details current, and chase invitations.
Stakeholders are the people your estate involves. Each role does something different:
- Beneficiary: inherits what you allocate to them
- Executor: acts on your estate when something happens to you
- Guardian: looks after a minor beneficiary until they come of age
- Asset manager: helps you maintain the vault while you are still here, and inherits nothing
Adding a beneficiary
Open Stakeholders and click Add Stakeholder.
Choose Beneficiary, then enter their name, email, phone and relationship to you.
Save. BlockWill emails them an invitation and the row shows as invited until they accept.
Adding an executor
An executor is the person who acts when your inactivity timer runs out or when they need to report that something has happened to you. Their details are worth getting right: if their email bounces at the moment it matters, the handover stalls.
Executors are first-to-act, not a committee. Any one of them can confirm or trigger a transition without agreement from the others.
Editing someone
Open the person from the stakeholder list and use More Options on their detail page. From there you can correct an email or phone number, change their relationship, or adjust their role.
Chasing an invitation
If someone never accepted, resend from the same More Options menu. Before you do, check the obvious causes: the invitation went to a mistyped address, it landed in spam, or it expired.
Giving an asset manager access to a vault
An asset manager can only see the vaults you explicitly grant, and each grant is scoped to a specific key.
Unlock the vault and click Manage Vault.
In the Asset Managers section, pick the person and choose which key their access uses.
Click Grant Access.
To take it away again, revoke the grant from the same section. Their access ends immediately.
An asset manager can read and maintain everything in a vault you grant them. Grant the narrowest access that lets them do the job.
